Randers FC visit Filbert Way on Thursday in the UEFA Europa Conference League Knockout Round Play-Off first leg (8pm kick-off). Justin was forced to withdraw during Sunday's 2-2 Premier League draw with West Ham United and is expected to be back in contention around the end of the month. Ricardo Pereira, on the other hand, won't be involved as part of his rehabilitation plan following his return from a leg injury. There was also an update on the condition of Wesley Fofana (fractured fibula) and Jamie Vardy (hamstring) during Wednesday's pre-match press conference in Seagrave. On Justin, Rodgers told the media: "He's a young guy who’s a real supernatural athlete. We’re also wary that he’s coming back from a long-term injury. The feeling from him was he felt good and strong. The plan ironically was to play him at the weekend and give Luke [Thomas] a rest. "He’s also a 20-year-old guy, he is our youngest defender but he’s been thrust into it most, so we have to find a place for him to come off. The plan was to give him a breather and for JJ not to play on Thursday. He’s probably going to be a couple of weeks, thankfully it’s not too serious, but there’s a slight strain in there so he'll miss a couple of weeks.
"There's nothing else. Ricardo Pereira won’t play. As part of his plan, he’s still in recovery and we’ll get him ready for the weekend (away at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League), but apart from that, there’s no new injury news." Vardy, on the other hand, has been absent since the 1-0 victory over Liverpool in late December, but Rodgers is hopeful that Leicester's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is progressing well on the road to recovery. Fofana has been out since August but is gradually progressing in his rehabilitation. "[Vardy is] working very well," the Northern Irishman added. "He’s probably a couple of weeks away, 10 days to two weeks. He’s out on the field, he's running, he's working and he's looking very sharp, so hopefully soon. [Fofana] starts [training] on Friday."
