- Leicester City welcome Manchester United to King Power Stadium on Sunday (4pm kick-off)- A win for the Foxes will see them qualify for the UEFA Champions League- Manager Brendan Rodgers says City will approach the game with a fresh mindset- The Northern Irishman has backed his players to showcase their ability in the fixture
City are fifth in the Premier League, but could climb to third on Sunday, in a fixture which may end with both teams, or just one, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
A pre-season target of reaching European football has already been secured by the Foxes - alongside the Club's second-highest Premier League finish - but Rodgers says more is possible.
The Red Devils are in the driving seat for a top-four finish as Ole Gunnar Solskjær's side currently sit third, while fourth-placed Chelsea, also one point above City, host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, a victory would enable Leicester to return into European football's platinum club competition and, speaking on Friday, Rodgers revealed the mood in the camp is one of confidence.
"We've had a really good week," he said. "The guys rested for a few days after the Tottenham game, which I think we needed, and we then had a really, really good week's training.
"It's probably our first free week since the restart that we’ve been able to do the work that we wanted to do and we arrive into the game fresh and ready to give it everything.
"It means we can put a plan and a strategy in place and then be as fresh as we possibly can be for the game. For us, the week gives us every opportunity now.
"In general, the mood around this team is very good. We looked a little jaded in the last game, but this week has given us a great opportunity to press the reset button.
"We’ve been able to get ready, physically and mentality, and the players are in great spirits. We’ll complete our preparations over the weekend and then we’re all in."
After an initial period of recuperation early in the week, the Foxes have been hard at work at Belvoir Drive, ahead of a game which will determine their final 2019/20 league standing.
Despite coming up against the 20-time champions of England, who are unbeaten in 13 games in the top-flight, Rodgers knows that his side have the ability to seal three points.
"Well, we can win, there's absolutely no doubt about that," the Northern Irishman added. "I think in the game earlier on the season, we were unfortunate to lose that game.
"The strategy of the game is going to be important. We want to win the game. We can't go on and look at any other result that may happen elsewhere.
"There's the psychology of the game also, which you have to think about it, but we've got quality in our squad and we've got real talent, especially in forward areas.
"We have to be mindful that a game is over the course of the 90 minutes and we have to come up with the plan that hopefully will see us get a result.
"I’ve been involved in finals and two-legged games where the results mean everything, so I’m not new to the situation.
"It’s just a really exciting game for us. Sometimes clubs can get to the end of the season and it just fizzles out, but for us, with so much to play for, that’s what you’re looking for.
"I’ve said that, since the first whistle this season, it doesn’t finish until the very last one. For us, this is an opportunity. It’s an opportunity to finish the season on a real high."
