- Brendan Rodgers analyses Leicester City's 4-0 victory over SC Braga on Thursday night- Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho (2), Dennis Praet and James Maddison sealed City's all-time biggest win in Europe- The Foxes sit top of Group G in the UEFA Europa League with a 100 per cent record- Manager Rodgers was pleased by the ruthless pursuit of goals on show from his side
A brace from Kelechi Iheanacho, either side of the interval, was added to by solitary efforts from Dennis Praet and James Maddison on Filbert Way on Thursday evening.
The Foxes sit atop of the Group G standings after three matchdays in Europe and Rodgers highlighted the potency of his attacking players during his full-time debrief with LCFC TV.
"It’s a very good start to the group," the Northern Irishman said. "Three games, three wins and a good performance tonight against a good side.
"We knew Braga, you’ve seen how they played in the first half, they’re a very good side. They’ve got very good technical players and, tactically, they were very good.
"In the second half, we had to organise our midfield better. In the first half, there were too many gaps. In the second half, we were much better and, I thought, really dynamic in the game.
"We were really good going forwards and closed the game up behind. We didn’t concede any chances and ended up with a great win."
Rodgers was particularly pleased with the ruthlessness on show from his Foxes outfit as they continued to press for more goals despite already being in a commanding position.
If not for some last-minute interventions from Matheus and the defenders in front of him, the scoreline could yet have been even more impressive for Leicester, the 47-year-old believes.
"What’s important is we kept pushing," he continued. "When we got to 2-0, 3-0, we didn’t stop. We scored four, but it could have had more.
"It’s important to go for the 90 minutes and that’s what we always encourage in the game. We were dynamic, like I said. We had great combinations.
"We got in behind and sometimes their goalkeeper made good saves, or good blocks from the defenders, but it was great.
"We looked really powerful in the game, breaking forward, and we were very good."
