- Brendan Rodgers reflects on Leicester City's 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion- Jamie Vardy, Jonny Evans and Kelechi Iheanacho found the net for the Foxes- Rodgers was pleased to see Vardy return to scoring ways and deliver another fine display- The Northern Irishman also looked ahead to City's next challenge against Crystal Palace
Four days following the Foxes' 1-0 victory over Southampton at Wembley, to reach the final of the FA Cup, goals from Jamie Vardy, Jonny Evans and Kelechi Iheanacho registered an 18th league win of the season to keep City third in the table. Speaking after that win at King Power Stadium, Rodgers told LCFC TV: "I said to the players before the FA Cup Semi-Final, that it was always going to be a mental challenge for us, whether we won that game or lost it. "Okay, thankfully, we won it and now we're all in. You cannot have one foot in and one foot out. We're in the final, great, but that's a number of weeks away. We've got work to do and the guys did the work very well this evening."
The Northern Irishman was particularly pleased with the quality on show in City's opener, netted by Vardy, as the No.9 got back to scoring ways in blue.
"It was an outstanding team goal, great move, great combination play," Rodgers added. "He finished it with real, real confidence. We're delighted for him.
"He showed a great piece of skill for the third goal, it was a great team goal, he nut-megs the defender, goes into their box and plays it to Kels (Iheanacho). So, yes, he was outstanding."
Crystal Palace are next up for the Foxes on Filbert Way on Monday (8pm BST kick-off) and Rodgers expects another tough test for his side. "They're very good on the counter-attack, they block the game up well, deny you space," the 48-year-old explained. "So we have to ensure that we're not so loose with the ball and then they have a threat at set pieces. It's another dangerous game. It's important.
"Winning after winning is important and the guys did that this evening."
