The policy fully supports and complies with the Child Safeguarding Policy of the Football Association and Premier League. Leicester City Football Club believes that the general wellbeing, welfare and safety of all young persons and children involved in its Academy are paramount.
The Academy’s belief is that placing players’ welfare at the centre of its concerns provides a solid foundation for the development of young players of the future and for effective child protection.
The Academy has put into place systems that will prevent or minimise the risk of abuse occurring within its own organisation, actively enforcing the FA Child Safeguarding Policy and recognising and accepting the statutory duty of Leicester City’s Safeguarding Children Board.
The Academy has appointed a designated employee for safeguarding children, Children’s Officer Dale Bradshaw. All staff working at the Academy have also received training in the FA’s Child Safeguarding and Best Practice and are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.
All parents and guardians are also informed of the Club’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. The Academy ensures that, via their policy and procedures, all children and young people, regardless of their age, culture, ability, gender, language, racial origin, religious belief or sexual identity, have the right to protection from abuse.
All bullying is unacceptable; we treat each other with respect. We follow the anti-bullying policy which is featured in the players’ log book. The process of dealing with bullying involves speaking with your coach or Children’s Officer. Any concerns regarding bullying will be treated confidentially.
