- LCFC Women face Everton this Sunday in the Barclays Women's Super League- Manager Willie Kirk provided an update on his squad- Remy Siemsen remains sidelined for six to eight weeks- One player had a slight hamstring injury in training
After an opening day victory over Bristol City, where Aimee Palmer, Shannon O'Brien, Lena Petermann and Jutta Rantala scored the goals, the Foxes prepare for their first home WSL fixture this weekend where they'll face Everton on Sunday afternoon at 3pm BST. In the build-up to the match against his former club, the Manager shared an update on his squad during Thursday press conference at Belvoir Drive, where he stated that one player, who he didn't name, had to stop training early due to a possible hamstring injury, and went on to explain that Australian striker Siemsen will remain sidelined. "We've just had a player leave the pitch early today," Kirk admitted. "So the next 24 hours will be crucial to determine the level of injury, and hopefully it won't be too bad. It's frustrating to see, but that happens in football and we'll be prepared to deal with the issue, should the player not be fit for selection come Sunday.
"Remy [Siemsen] is still out for six to eight weeks with her injury, but we knew that already and she is on the road to recovery. But as long as the hamstring situation isn't too serious, we'll have a full squad to face Everton, which is what we want."
