‘The Minute Sven Signed For Leicester, He Called Me!’

“Sven bought be here. He was my national team manager at Ivory Coast. Before the 2010 World Cup, I was playing. He played me in all the friendlies and he dropped me a day before the first game of the World Cup! When we left, we told me that he’d made a mistake. He said he was going to sign for a club and he was going to take me with him. I thought he was just being nice, but the minute he signed for Leicester, he called me! It was the best decision I ever made [to join Leicester].”

‘I Started Scoring Goals!’

Funnily enough, when I went to Leicester, I started scoring goals. I scored two against Preston as well. Before that, I didn’t score many. My highlight would have to be the Man City game. My whole family was in the ground and it was very special. I couldn’t ask for a better debut. My whole time at Leicester was very good. It was my first time in English football. The Championship is tough. I used to love it. I was young and I could play every Tuesday-Saturday.”

“I was fortunate to score with my first touch and that gave me the confidence to do well. The way the whole Club took me on, the fans, I never had that before at any other football club. This Club is special for me and my family. The supporters are a massive part of it and the Club looks after you. I’ve been everywhere in Europe but I’ve never had anything like it. It’s a very, very special club.”

‘I Regret Leaving Leicester’

“Sven signed me in. He didn’t last long for whatever reason and Nigel Pearson came in. I got on well with him. We still talk and he’s a great man, but in my head, it wasn’t right. I came for Sven if you like. I didn’t think I should stay if he went, but that was the biggest mistake I made. My family always said I shouldn’t have left this Club. If I have to be honest, I have to say it’s a regret.”
