About The Role

As part of its new state-of-the-art training facility, Leicester City Football Club is looking to appoint a Greenkeeping Apprentice to join its growing Sports Turf and Grounds Team.

Supporting the Golf Course Manager in maintaining and developing the playing surfaces and surroundings of the Club’s nine-hole Golf Course, this role offer the right candidate the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a qualified Greenkeeping Technician.

The successful postholder will learn to conduct routine maintenance and servicing of the playing surfaces, utilising various techniques and different machinery to develop and maintain world-class facilities.

The on the job experience and learnings from the apprenticeship programme will help ensure you are able to maintain a course that offers consistent challenge and an enjoyable experience for all users of the course.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be able to

Use their own initiative to balance the requirements of the role with the learning programme
Have a strong work ethic, demonstrating pride in their work, high levels of personal integrity and strong time management skills.
Demonstrate good attention to detail as you learn to maintain Sports Turf grounds and surfaces whilst maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Work as part of a team, working and learning alongside the wider Sports Turf and Grounds team.

Contract Type – Fixed Term (24 months duration of the Apprenticeship Programme)Hours Per Week – 37.5
