- Wes Morgan previews Friday’s Premier League encounter with Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium (8pm kick-off)- Morgan says City will resist getting carried away with their league position- The Foxes currently sit third in the Premier League standings after nine games
Morgan, 35, made his fourth appearance of the campaign in all competitions last weekend, as he was introduced with just over 10 minutes to play to help the Foxes secure a 2-1 victory over Burnley. The 2016 Premier League champion is just one game away from making 300 appearances in City colours, and, from experience, knows his side must stay grounded despite a brilliant opening nine fixtures.
With Southampton next up on Friday night, the Foxes could take their 2019/20 points tally to 20 after just 10 outings – a total that Morgan would be pleased with. “It’s early days, you can’t get too carried away with the position that we are in the league,” Morgan said ahead of the trip to the south coast.
“We obviously want to be up there, which we are, and we’re happy to be where we are. In house, we know that we can do better in some games that we’ve played.
“It’s been a good start, we’re pleased with where we are, but we feel there is still room for more improvements.”
Live build-up of Friday’s match will begin at 5pm with the Pre-Match Pint, before Matchday Live follows at 7pm to provide free commentary of the match on LCFC Radio. All times BST.
