- Kasper Schmeichel’s Denmark made it three wins in three over the international break- Leicester’s No.1 earned his 63rd senior cap for the Red and White- Jonny Evans played the full game for Northern Ireland against Bulgaria- Wesley Fofana was an unused substitute for France Under-21s- International action concludes for the Foxes in March
It has been a hugely successful international break for Schmeichel and the Red and White, who backed up two big victories last week with another comprehensive success in Vienna.
Foxes stopper Schmeichel made it three shutouts in as many games following a 2-0 win in Israel and an 8-0 haul at home to Moldova.
Two second half strikes from Andreas Slov Olsen, plus goals from Joakim Maehle and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, gave table-topping Denmark three more points in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group F.
Elsewhere on Wednesday evening, Jonny Evans’ Northern Ireland were held by Bulgaria at Windsor Park, registering their first point in Group C of World Cup qualifying.
Turning out for his country for the 91st time, the City centre-back and his international colleagues had to settle for a 0-0 draw in Belfast, despite dominating possession throughout.
Earlier in the day, Wesley Fofana was an unused substitute for France in their 2021 UEFA U21 European Championships Group C game against Iceland. The Blues youngsters can now look forward to a quarter-final tie against Netherlands in May.
That concluded the international action for the Foxes, who will now focus on Saturday’s game against Manchester City at King Power Stadium (5:30pm BST kick-off).
