- Gerry Taggart reflects on Friday night’s 4-3 Premier League loss to Arsenal- The Foxes were just minutes away from claiming a point at Emirates Stadium- Jamie Vardy netted a double for City following Shinji Okazaki’s fifth-minute strike
The Foxes twice took the lead thanks to Jamie Vardy’s double, while Shinji Okazaki was earlier on the scoresheet to cancel out Alexandre Lacazette’s second-minute opener.
But Arsene Wenger introduced Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud late on in the second period and both Gunners stars were on target in London.
“It was a pulsating game of football,” Taggart reflected to LCFC Radio at full-time.
“Right from the start, both teams went for it and it was heartbreaking for the boys in blue you have to say.
“I feel for them. I feel for Craig Shakespeare and Jamie Vardy because he was a two-goal hero. It was a fantastic game of football but it was a really disappointing in the end.
“Credit to Arsenal and Arsene Wenger because he made two really good substitutions that came on. He changed his formation in the end to a back four.
“He brought the two substitutes on – Ramsey and Giroud – and in the end, they did the trick. You’ve got to hold your hands up at times and say well played to Arsenal.”
