Howard, Moore & Bamba Launch King Power ‘Repowered’ Collection
Steve Howard, Liam Moore and Sol Bamba were all on hand to provide stories from yesteryear during the launch event for the King Power Shirt Range. Wearing kits that evoked memories from a triumphant era in the Football Club’s history, the three former Leicester City stars discussed playing on Filbert Way under the likes of Nigel Pearson and Sven-Göran Eriksson, promotions from League 1 and the Championship, as well as reaching the Premier League.

‘A Sign Of The Good Times’
“It was the start of the King Power ownership and a sign of good times. It was a brilliant season (2010/11), we kicked on and had a great team. We should have done a lot better than we did (finishing 10th), but it was just a lovely time to play for the Club.”

‘I Look Back Fondly’
“I loved playing for Leicester, I always did. Even now I’ve been retired nine years and still look back fondly on my memories of Leicester. It was just a place I loved to play football. I think the fans warmed to me and it worked out really well. I’ve had a fantastic relationship with the Leicester fans.”

‘A Dream Come True’
“I couldn’t have imagined a better start. My first game for the Club at home against a big team like Manchester City in the FA Cup; to get a goal was a dream come true. You want to make an impression when you play and make your debut, but I don’t think anyone, especially a defender, can think of scoring on his first start in English football. It was very, very special and that moment will stay with me forever. I’ve got the shirt framed in my house with the no.34 on the back. I make sure I show my kids and they are very proud.”

‘My Best Moment’
“I was a bit lucky because the ball came very quickly and I didn’t know what to do, so I just side-footed it with my right. I’m not going to complain! If you see the celebration, I just point the finger at Lloydy (Lloyd Dyer) because he told me I was going to score, so I’ve got to give him a bit of credit. I remember the stadium going crazy. It was definitely my best moment in a Leicester shirt.”

‘Special Memories For Me’
“My debut was against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, wearing this white away shirt. It holds special memories for me. I’d been out on loan earlier that season and then to transition straight from my loan to getting a First Team start was surreal. It was just an amazing day in a good atmosphere and a great experience.”

'The Rest Is History'
“It came out of the blue a little bit; I wasn’t expecting to start the game and I was surprised to be in the squad to be honest. It was all a bit of a blur. I just remember ringing as many people as I could beforehand to get to the game. I was delighted to get the start, but I was focused on performing, doing well and not making any mistakes. The rest is history, but we’ve got the pictures to look back on.”
