Following Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, Leicester's first loss since October, Jürgen Klopp's recent 2019 FIFA Club World Cup winners visit King Power Stadium.

The Foxes have enjoyed a remarkable campaign so far this term, winning nine matches in a row, and they currently occupy second place in the Premier League standings at Christmas.

Speaking at full-time in Manchester, after goals from Riyad Mahrez, lkay Gündoğan and Gabriel Jesus overturned Jamie Vardy's superb opener, Rodgers looked ahead to a 'tough test' against the Reds.

"There’s certainly no panic, we know where we’re at," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV. "With all due respect, we’re on a different level to Manchester City [and] Liverpool.

"They’re the two outstanding teams in this league, but we can certainly play much better than what we did (at Manchester City).

"It will be a tough test for us. Of course, they’ll want to maintain their lead at the top."

With home advantage and the support of the Blue Army, Rodgers is confident that City will be ready for the challenge of tackling a side who are yet to lose in the Premier League this season.

He continued: "We have to continue fighting and working and obviously, we’re at home, so we’ll have the crowd behind us, which will be great.

"It’s a great game to respond in. We didn’t play so well [on Saturday] and now we have a really tough game on Thursday, but again, we’re ready for that challenge."
