- Brendan Rodgers says Leicester City will analyse their 3-0 defeat by Liverpool and correct the result in their next game- The Foxes travel to SC Braga in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday- City were beaten for the first time away from home in 2020/21 on Sunday
City’s first away defeat of the season came at Anfield, where the Reds scored headers through Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino to add to an own goal from Jonny Evans.
Now, Rodgers says his side will attempt to correct their first Premier League loss on the road in 2020/21 when they travel to SC Braga in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
“It’s always a tough game,” Rodgers said of Sunday’s loss. “Everyone was talking about Liverpool’s injuries, but they can still put out a world-class team. Their physicality, they’re the champions for a reason.
“For us, we’re disappointed with the goals. When we lost at home the last time, we played them, they were spectacular on the night.
“Tonight we feel that when we analyse the game, we can be better ourselves and more aggressive. That’s something we’ll take into our next game.”
The key for City now will be to recover from their defeat by Liverpool and ready themselves for a decisive Group G encounter with Braga in which they could qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
He added: “It’s a game we want to win. We’ll recover now and get ready for that. We’ll pick a team to go and win the game.
“That’ll be the plan, and we’ll see how the injuries look over the next couple of days.”
