- Leicester City must concentrate on delivering consistent results, says manager Brendan Rodgers- The Foxes recorded their fourth-straight win in all competitions on Monday night- Rodgers’ side beat Leeds United 4-1 at Elland Road in the Premier League
The convincing win in Yorkshire – City’s biggest-ever triumph at Elland Road – saw them move second in the Premier League standings and maintain their 100 per cent away record in 2020/21. Their third-straight away fixture, following wins at Arsenal in the Premier League and AEK Athens in the UEFA Europa League, thrilled Rodgers, who already has his sights on Thursday’s encounter with SC Braga. “We’ve got to keep winning, that’s the idea,” the manager told LCFC TV. “We want consistency both in the Premier League and Europe. “It’s about focus, about concentration, and the players are producing. It’s nice, and we move onto the next game now.
“It’s a great start. It’s an absolutely fantastic start for us. Again, like I say, with all the injuries and everything that we’ve had, the players have worked so hard.
“They’re so honest and they also have talent, so I’m very pleased. We’ll get in, recover tomorrow, analyse where we can be better in the game and see if we can get another three points on Thursday.”
With several first team stars missing due to injury, Rodgers placed importance on having strength in depth in his squad – something that City have had to showcase in recent games.
“Everyone knows they’ve got to play a part,” he said. “You need your squad. We’ve got a lot of players out, but it shows that with good organisation and good focus, the guys that have come in have done exceptionally well.
“Now, we can get ready for Thursday.”
