- Leicester City host Brighton & Hove Albion behind closed doors on Tuesday (6pm BST kick-off)- The Foxes returned to Premier League duties with a 1-1 draw at Watford on Saturday- Manager Brendan Rodgers has backed his side to continue developing as the season progresses- The Northern Irishman also discusses Jamie Vardy's pursuit of a 100th Premier League goal
The King Power Stadium fixture is the second behind-closed-doors outing for the Foxes since the Premier League's summer resumption earlier this month.
Following a 1-1 draw at Watford on Saturday, Rodgers believes his City side are determined to swiftly seal their first victory of a now eight-game top-flight run-in.
Discussing the peculiar nature of contesting matches with no supporters, Rodgers told the media: "The players will play their game. Of course, there’s not the same pressure, or influence from spectators, but you can still feel the edge in games.
"If you looked at our game at the weekend, in the first 10 minutes, even though there were no supporters there, it was a bit frantic.
"It took around 10 games for the game to settle down and for the teams to find their rhythm so, where there’s so much at stake, there’s still going to be that edge there.
"Some players may even play with more freedom, but in the end, they’ll play how they train, how they wish to play, and continue with that structure to their game."
Leicester are currently third in the Premier League standings and the Northern Irishman has backed his squad to continue their development and secure a positive conclusion to 2019/20.
"You can only look ahead of you, not behind," Rodgers added. "Our job is to focus on ourselves, to look forward, and I’m always optimistic that we can improve and develop.
"We count on developing and getting better and improving our football philosophy and seeing where it takes us. We got off to a decent start, with a decent performance at the weekend, and we’ve not got a chance at home to pick up the three points.
"We have to be hungry and motivated for that. We’ve got two big games, including an exciting FA Cup Quarter-Final, this week, but you can only look at the next game."
City No.9 Jamie Vardy is also closing in on his 100th Premier League goal for the Club, and Rodgers has backed his striker to reach the 'incredible achievement'.
"Obviously, you don’t get the chance to share the joy with the supporters, which is why we play football; for them and to entertain them," he continued.
"On the same token, if he gets a goal, whenever it comes, whether it’s tomorrow or otherwise, I’m sure he’ll celebrate an incredible achievement.
"Especially for someone who’s come into the Premier League so late, it’s incredible and, of course, we hope there’s going to be many more."
