LCFC Women’s new forward, who signed a permanent contract on Thursday, adds excitement to our squad, having netted 15 times during 25 appearances for Kristianstads DFF in the Swedish top division last season.
Raring to get going in Leicester blue, the 24-year-old labelled herself as a physical presence with attributes that will mix well in the current side.
The Icelandic forward joins on a permanent basis.
“I’m really happy to be here and get going with the team,” Eiríksdóttir stated in her first Foxes interview. “I’m honoured to be here. I would say I’m a pretty typical Icelandic or Scandinavian player, in that I’m strong and have a strong winning mentality.
“I have a will to score goals and I’m a very attack-minded person. In the dressing room, I will come in with my ambitions to win and I think I can spread some energy to the team.
“Of course, I hope to contribute with some goals.”
Following positive conversations with the management team, the Icelandic international knew the Barclays Women’s Super League challenge was one to be accepted.
Outlining what Amandine Miquel has already requested of her, Eiríksdóttir believes this is a perfect place for her to develop as a player. Outlining her targets for this term.
She added: “There are a lot of reasons why I wanted to come here, but the main one was the words from the Manager and what she wanted from me football wise.
“It was important for me to feel wanted and I felt that in the first few talks. It’s a massive club with the facilities and everything around the team so I have everything I need to get better here.
“She signed me as a forward, to help with the offensive play, but she made it clear I do have a role in the defence as well, so it’ll be about adapting to the team and hopefully adding a bit extra.”
