Abdul Fatawu claims February’s Goal of the Month honours
His strike at Birmingham City chosen as the winner
For his third entry on the shortlist this season, Abdul’s exquisite half-volley against Birmingham City was selected as the month’s standout goal.
Abdul said: “Winning this award gives me confidence and makes me want to do more for the team. It is hard to get too happy about it, though, as I want us to be in a better position than we are.
"I always try to score and give assists, so it is nice when your hard work pays off. Everything we do on the pitch is to win, so we need to do better and keep working hard between now and the end of the season to make sure we stay in this league.”
The Ghana international beat off competition from Southampton’s Shea Charles, Bristol City’s Max Bird and Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni to win the award.
