Sharing his ambitions after signing a four-year contract which will keep him at the Football Club until 2030, the former Bosnia and Herzegovina Under-21s international wants to contribute to a successful season in any way he can, adding firepower to our attacking ranks.

“I feel proud and it’s amazing to be at such a big club like Leicester City,” the forward explained from inside LCFC Training Ground, becoming accustomed to his new surroundings. “It’s a big step in my career and I'm so excited to show the fans what I can do. I hope to bring Leicester to the Championship.

“I know a lot (about Leicester City). I remember that I was watching the season when they were champions of the Premier League. I was watching, as a kid, Jamie [Vardy] and other guys winning games and the title.”

During a successful spell at Slovenian PrvaLiga outfit Bravo last term, on loan from parent club Olimpija Ljubljana, Bristric hit double figures in the league, registering 10 goals and two assists across 24 games.

“I think I'm a bit versatile,” the 23-year-old responded when asked about the type of striker City fans can expect to see this season. “I can do a bit of everything, not just a target man. I can score goals, give assists, link the play. I think I will help the team.

“I expect it to be a lot different [here] because I think where I was playing in Slovenia, in other ways, compared to here, it’s a lot slower.

“I scored some goals; I had a great season. We had a great team back then and now it’s a new challenge for me. I need to adapt fast and catch up early.”

Coming into a dressing room brimming with confidence and aiming to carry forward a winning mentality built up during pre-season and the first competitive fixture – a Carabao Cup victory over Northampton Town on home soil – Bristric was keen to get onboard after discussing the team’s philosophy with Russell Martin.

The Tuzla-born attacker added: “I’m excited to meet everyone and speak to them, and I hope we'll make great things this season. We were speaking before (with the Manager), two or three weeks [ago].

“He introduced the project to me, introduced the team and how he wants to play, so it fits everything, what I like to play and it was great to speak with him.

“I was watching the game [during] my medical. It was a great match from the team. I think every match in the season will be like this.

“This team doesn't belong here and I hope I will help the team and my Manager with my goals and other things, to [get] promoted.”
