Following a pause in the schedule for the recent international break, City return to WSL action with a tough test on the road when they face Man City at Joie Stadium.
One player who remained at Belvoir Drive was Leitzig, who spoke about what it's like to train when working within a smaller group.
"On the international break, you have time to work on the individual things and, for me, the goalkeeping training is good to focus on other things so I enjoy the work," she mentioned. "But I'm looking forward to having the players come back.
"The ones who are here, it's quite nice, because you get to have time with different people and, of course, you have your friends you spend most of your time with, but it loosens you up a bit and I'd say the schedules stay similar."
Janina Leitzig has made seven appearances this season, keeping two clean sheets.

City's No.1 went on to talk about past results and how injuries have unfortunately plagued the squad this season, but states how they are a part of football, and the process hasn't altered.
"We are not happy with the results at the moment, points wise," Leitzig admitted. "Because we wanted to have more points than we have now but the way we play, you can see the process and I'm really positive about that at the moment.
"We've adapted things and, from a tactical point of view, you can see the process in every single game, so if you put the performance in, the points and results will come.
"We have two really tough WSL games coming up before Christmas (against Man City and Chelsea) but we have to keep working and aim for some wins, because we have the quality in the squad.
"We're looking forward to having some offensive players come back from injury because people are having to play in positions they are not used to but are trying their best.
"You can see the progress but it takes time so, yes, we'd like to have a fit squad but it doesn't change our process because injuries can happen. We want to keep working on what we have been the last few, and score more goals to get more points."
This weekend's challenge can be seen as Leicester's hardest to date, with an away visit to a side currently second in the standings, having lost only once in all competitions this season.
The German 'keeper saved three of Man City's penalties during a shootout success in the League Cup.

However, this doesn't faze the former Bayern Munich shot-stopper, who is excited for the challenge and believes the Foxes have a reputation of putting up a good fight against the Citizens, reminiscing about a Women's League Cup win on penalties, towards the end of last year.
"We know they are a strong side with good individual players and they are getting good results; winning most of their games, but I love these games because it's a challenge," Leitzig continued.
"I want to compete with the best and we need to accept the test and be difficult to play against. Our defensive work has been quite good since the start of the season and that's the basis of our game plan so we have to keep that going against Man City.
"Everyone in the defence is confident at the moment because we're conceding goals and it feels more comfortable which is good.
"I have a few good memories from Man City. We obviously won in the League Cup, but we did well in the league games. We haven't got a point yet, but there's been tight games.
"Last time there we conceded twice late on and then it was 1-0 at home and they've had some tough games against us so that's where we need to take confidence."
