During a busy spell in the football calendar, plenty of City loanees have been in action, one of which is striker Cannon, who is quickly becoming the focal point for Stoke's Sky Bet Championship campaign.
After losses to Sheffield Wednesday and then Leeds United on Boxing Day, the Potters returned to winning ways in their final outing of 2024, against Sunderland at the Bet365 Stadium; Cannon netting the crucial injury-time goal.
Most recently, they opened the New Year with a goalless draw at Turf Moor when they faced Burnley, and now await a home clash with Plymouth Argyle on Saturday afternoon (12:30pm kick-off).
Sheffield United have also been busy in their hunt for an immediate return to the Premier League, beating Cardiff City 2-0 thanks to a brace from Kieffer Moore, before losing to Burnley by the same scoreline on Boxing Day.
Currently third in the standings with 49 points, Australia defender Harry Souttar played the majority in both matches before picking up an unfortunate injury, that will see him out of action for an extended period of time.

In League One, Silko Thomas featured in all three of Wigan Athletic's last games, drawing 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town, winning 1-0 over Rotherham United, in which the winger started, before registering an assist in a 2-1 loss to AFC Wrexham.
Having made 19 appearances this term, Wigan's next test sees them host Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off) as they look to improve on their 16th-placed position in the table.
One level lower, Brandon Cover has been featuring heavily for Port Vale, who are fifth and chasing promotion to the third division, the loanee most recently started as the side drew 0-0 with Cheltenham Town on 1 January.
Abroad, Wanya Marçal played in a 4-0 win over Sparta Nijkerk on 19 December at Stadion De Vijverberg, playing an hour, before the side lost 2-1 to FC Voldendam on their travels.
They remain fifth in Eerste Divise with 32 points from 20 games and return to action when they welcome ADO Den Haag on Friday 10 January (7pm KO).
Lastly, Sammy Braybrooke, who is on loan at Dundee FC, has the chance to feature in a big derby against Dundee United on Thursday afternoon (5:30pm kick-off) at The Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park as they look to improve on their eighth place position.
