Caleb Okoli has previewed Saturday’s clash with Coventry City
We head to Coventry Building Society Stadium on the back of two successive wins
Taking on the Sky Bet Championship leaders, in a local derby, is something which Okoli is looking forward to
He also expresses his desire to make sure the second half of 25/26 is better than the first
The Foxes head to Coventry Building Society Arena having won their last two matches in all competitions, facing a Sky Blues outfit who sit top of the Sky Bet Championship. Okoli, who has featured often in the heart of defence over the winter months for City, hopes to be involved again in Coventry and help his team to what would be a big victory. “I know it’s an important game for Leicester and the fans,” the Italian centre-back said this week. “Of course, it’s a derby, so we are getting ready for this.
“We all know that derbies have a little bit extra importance when we are playing it. It’s important for us and we know the history and why it’s important for all the Leicester fans.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in this game because I think it’ll be a really good game. We all know the Championship is a very long season.
“They started very well. It’s an away game, so first of all, we need the support from our fans. Then we need to push altogether from the beginning to the end.”
Now into the second half of the season, Okoli is optimistic it’ll be better than the first for Leicester, who are looking to build momentum and consistency to climb the table.
He added: “In terms of positioning, maybe we expected to be [higher] in the table, but now just looking at the second part of the season, we are looking to get more points from the first part.
“We’ve been working on it. The main thing is being more consistent and working together. The last few games, we took [wins] from each game.
“This has been a good week where we put in a lot of work, improving in certain areas where we were lacking a little bit. We need to keep being professional and keep putting the work in at every single moment.”
