Delivered over 10 weeks at King Power Stadium, the programme provides adults aged 18 and over with the opportunity to improve their mental wellbeing while connecting with others through the shared power of football.
Taking place every Tuesday from 10:30am until 12:30pm, Goal Difference combines football-themed activities with group discussions and practical wellbeing exercises, encouraging participants to open up about their experiences, develop positive coping strategies and build lasting friendships.
Goal Difference is delivered in partnership with Public Health Leicester City Council, creating a safe and inclusive environment where adults experiencing mental health challenges feel supported, connected and valued. The programme provides participants with a welcoming space to talk openly about their mental health, build confidence and develop the skills and resilience needed to make positive changes in their lives.
Community
Throughout the programme, participants are encouraged to improve their physical and emotional wellbeing through engaging activities that reduce social isolation, strengthen resilience and promote healthier lifestyles. By bringing people together through football, Goal Difference demonstrates how sport can play a powerful role in supporting mental health beyond the pitch.
Whether taking part in football-themed sessions, sharing experiences with others or simply becoming part of an inclusive community, Goal Difference helps participants take positive steps towards improving their wellbeing while reminding them they are not alone.
