Joining from Southampton on Deadline Day, the Nigeria midfielder will bring versatility and attacking power to the Foxes over the final months of the season.
Having won promotion with Charlton Athletic, the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup with Rangers, and helping Nigeria to the 2023 AFCON Final, the 29-year-old – our new No.18 – also offers considerable experience and knowhow.
Speaking in Seagrave after completing the deal this week, he said: “I’m buzzing. For me, it’s amazing to have got it done and I just can’t wait to get going.
“Honestly, [the facilities are] unbelievable. It just takes your breath away almost. I can’t wait to get started. It’s a great Club.”
Upon hearing of Leicester City’s interest, it didn’t take Aribo long to make the call to sign on the dotted line, switching St. Mary’s for Filbert Way with just hours to go until the window shuts later on Monday evening.

“I was excited,” he added. “I just wanted a change of scenery, to get back playing, and be at my best again. It’s been a difficult season with not much playing time.
“Of course, I’m excited just to have the chance to be back out there firing again. It’s important that I can prove a point and be my best self every single day.
“I’m someone who’s willing to take risks, exciting on the ball, and I’ll try and pop up with a few goals as well. I always joke with my friends that I can play anywhere.
“I’m pretty much a central midfielder [or a] No.10. I think it’s important because the managers change things sometimes in a game. I can adapt to different roles, different positions, it’s not too much of a problem for me.”
Having experienced some of our best nights at King Power Stadium over recent years, albeit on the losing Saints side – including our 5-0 win two seasons ago – Aribo is hoping to enjoy similar positive results now he’ll be wearing blue.

Recalling past encounters with the Foxes, Aribo explained: “I remember scoring but losing a game at the same time. Also playing at the King Power, I think it was 5-0. For me, it’s a lot of ups and downs, but it’s always good battling with Leicester.
“It’s so important for me to bring that joy. I want to be able to feel that [atmosphere] but on the right side of the coin. I felt it on the opposite side and it was difficult but the fans are really good.
“I’m really excited. I’ve always known the squad is good. I’ve watched games and I’m so certain with where we can get to and what we can do together. It’s just good to be a part of it and join in.
“When I used to go away on internationals, Kelechi [Iheanacho] used to always be talking about the Club. Even Wilf [Ndidi]. He’s a bit more quiet, but Kelechi was always making jokes and always letting us know how good the ground is, how good the Club is.
“I’m really excited. I can’t wait to get started. I’m just ready to get going.”
