  • New signing Jordan James started for Wales in a friendly against Canada
  • Jeremy Monga made a substitute appearance as England U19s won again
  • There was a Northern Ireland U21s debut for Development Squad midfielder Ryan Donnelly
The 21-year-old started in midfield for the Dragons at Swansea.com Stadium, earning his 21st cap, as Craig Bellamy’s men lost for just the second time since his managerial appointment last summer, courtesy of Derek Cornelius' free-kick shortly before half-time.
Up next for Wales is a friendly against England at Wembley Stadium on 9 October, prior to hosting Belgium in their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier four days later.
Earlier on, young winger Jeremy Monga was introduced as a half-time substitute in England Under-19s’ 4-1 victory over the Netherlands, ending a three-game week unbeaten after two wins and a draw.

Will Antwi’s side saw off Ukraine before a stalemate with hosts Spain, and their final outing at Pinatar Arena brought a flurry of goals. Harrison Amstrong got things started inside the first minute and Shumaira Mheuka soon added a brace, including one from the penalty spot.
After Monga entered the fray in place of young Lions skipper Chris Rigg, the goals didn’t dry up and Sol Sidibe rounded off the scoring to complete a big win against the Dutch. The Under-19s will be in action again next month, returning to Spain to prepare for UEFA U19 EURO qualifiers in November.
Elsewhere, Development Squad midfielder Ryan Donnelly made his debut for Northern Ireland Under-21s as they secured a credible 1-1 draw away to Georgia.

Home games against Malta (9 October) and Germany (14 October) come next for Northern Ireland in Group F, which also contains Greece and Latvia.
