  • Leicester City stars Wilfred Ndidi and Jordan Ayew went head-to-head on the global stage
  • The Super Eagles came out on top 2-1 on Wednesday evening
  • The midweek friendly took place at the Gtech Community Stadium in London
Hosted at the home of Premier League side Brentford, Nigeria and Ghana faced off in a friendly fixture midweek, with both Ndidi and Ayew named in their respected starting XI’s.
Our No.18 had the honour of captaining his country, but the Black Stars fell to defeat in the capital, conceding after 14 minutes to Cyriel Dessers, who plays his football in Scotland for Rangers.

Five minutes later, Nigeria added a second after an unfortunate own goal from Razak Simpson, handing the Super Eagles a two-goal advantage at the break.
Midway through the second half, Ghana halved the deficit through Coventry City’s Brandon Thomas-Asante, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.
Two Leicester team-mates pitting against each other, it was Ndidi who came out on top this time, as both have the chance to feature again on Saturday afternoon; first of all when Ghana take on Trinidad & Tobago (12:30pm kick-off) before Nigeria tackle Jamaica later on (5pm kick-off) – both games once again in Brentford.
A day prior, young defender Brandon Cover was unused from the bench as Jamaica beat Trinidad & Tobago 3-2 in an international friendly. He has so far been capped once for the Reggae Boyz.
