Brighton & Hove Albion beat LCFC Women on Sunday afternoon
Kiko Seike scored the only goal of the match at King Power Stadium
The result leaves City at the foot of the Barclays Women’s Super League
Emma Jansson shared her honest reflections at full-time
A early goal at the start of the second half from Kiko Seike made it a disappointing day for City last weekend, as we fell to our seventh consecutive defeat in the Barclays Women's Super League. Sharing her verdict after the full-time whistle, the 29-year-old understands the enormity of the challenge ahead, but is ready to put in the work needed to turn things around.
Jansson joined the Foxes in the winter transfer window.
“It’s really hard. We let in an early goal again after half-time, so that’s really tough for us, but we need to stick in the game and it’s small details all the time,” the midfielder explained.
“We need to keep going and be ready to go again for the next game.
“It’s tough but we’ve been in this situation before, so we need to stick together, work hard every day and it’s annoying to say, but we need to go again.”
Speaking on the fans' influence.
Just one home game remains this campaign, when current champions, Chelsea, make the trip to the East Midlands in May.
On the road against London City Lionesses, Arsenal and Everton makes it vital to turn performances into points, and the Swedish international believes the support from the fans can inspire the team to do what is necessary.
“It’s really important to be at home, we feel the support from the stands, so we need to go again and work hard,” Jansson added. “We need to take the energy from them into the last few games.”
