Rick Passmoor’s side picked up three points last weekend when a Leanne Cowan own goal in the second half was enough to reward us with all three points.

Holding on for a first clean sheet of the campaign as well, LCFC Women now head to Filbert Way in search of a first home win, and will need the backing of our Blue Army to do so!

An opening day win for the Foxes.

Seven of our eight new signings this summer were involved in Sunday’s victory at Bramall Lane, with three of our back four making an immediate impression on their debuts; Jessie Stapleton winning your Player of the Match vote on social media.

At the other end of the pitch, Paulina Nyström, Jess Ziu, Araya Dennis and Poppy Pritchard all got good minutes as we look to build momentum in the early stages of the campaign.

On the hunt for a first home win since beating London City Lionesses last winter, Sam Tierney hopes the team can bring confidence from last weekend into our clash with Durham.

“We’ll be better in the future and to be able to manage the games in a better way going forward,” she commented, following our opener.

Looking at Durham

Focused on our next opponents.

Last season’s 10th placed team will be looking to improve this time around, but have faced challenges after enduring a difficult summer off the pitch.

Standing in the dugout will be former Leicester Manager, Willie Kirk, who is back managing in England after several years in Sweden.

Losing 3-1 on the opening day at home to Southampton, Sunday will not come as an easy task for us, as they set their sights on picking up vital points from Filbert Way.

Tickets for this match are priced at £12 for adults and £8 for over-65s and under-22s, with under-8s attending for free.

There are savings to be had if making a group booking; 15 per cent if you purchase between six and 12 tickets and 25 per cent if you purchase 13 or more.

Parking spots are also up for grabs in Car Park C, priced at £5 per car. Please note that vehicles must be parked one hour before kick-off and the car park will reopen one hour after the full-time whistle.
