For the first time this season, City came from behind in the WSL to earn a point for their efforts, having narrowly lost out Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
Kees was delighted to see that the fight and resilience shown in the second half warranted a worthy draw, going on to say how the players are starting to understand the demands from Interim Manager Rick Passmoor.
Kees has made four appearances this season.

“I think we started better than we did against Tottenham,” Kees began. “But then after the break, we were sloppy for about 10 minutes which is when they scored, but then we changed our mentality which is so big in this team and got a deserved point.
“To create confidence from the team is the most important thing today, making sure you can win your one-vs.-one duels across the pitch and if you do that, you’ll get chances. If we played 10 more minutes, I think we could’ve won but a point is a good result for us.
“It’s really clear what he (Rick Passmoor) wants and there is a good fight and good attitude towards it. I think it’s just the fine details and each game that’ll get better and better, and we’ll grow towards the top.”
Up against a side who have invested heavily prior to this term, the Belgian international believes it was a team effort, with a no fear mentality, that created the opportunity to get back into the game at the weekend.

Mouchon, who spent the majority of last season out with injury, was the goalscorer and Kees sees the quality coming off the bench as a positive, keeping the door open for the entire 90 minutes.
“It’s important to keep that mentality,” she continued. “In other games we didn’t have that, but we’re starting to get that and we need to keep that in mind whenever we go down in a game.
“I think we can look at the bench now and we can bring in quality and that helps us when we need to get goals or get back into it.
“Rick really wants me, along with others in the defence, to play without fear, to push the team up and that we communicate which will also improve over time.”
