The Barclays Women’s Super League returns to Filbert Way for the first time this season, as we take on the Reds in a 12:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday.
Speaking prior to the encounter with Gareth Taylor’s outfit, our Interim Manager confirmed that forwards Missy Goodwin, Denny Draper and Noémie Mouchon all remain out of contention, having missed the season opener at Manchester United last weekend.
“She (Goodwin) is still working towards fitness and still in the medical room, so she won’t be available,” Passmoor told the media on Friday. “We’re not putting timeframes on it to ensure she’s in the best place to return to the pitch.

“But at the moment we’re discounting her for selection for the next few games and then we will just see the information which comes back from the specialists, our staff, and then when we can return her into training.
“We’ve got, in terms of her (Draper), a little bit of a knock on the knee. With Denny, it’s just reviewing it on a regular daily basis and seeing how she progresses. We’re not putting any timeframe on it as she got an injury as well last season.
“She (Mouchon) is unavailable at the moment. It’s just left with the medical team until she is fully available for selection. We’re making sure that she’ll be fit and ready to play when that opportunity arises.”
In more positive news, Finnish forward Rantala is now moving towards full fitness having come through the final stages of the encounter with the Red Devils, introduced as an 82nd-minute substitute to make her first City appearance since October 2024.

“She’ll be available this weekend,” Passmoor confirmed on the Finland international. “She’s done well this week. We’ve had modified training into full training for her.
“It’s looking at her workload to ensure that when we do return her, either off the bench again or in the starting XI, that she is fully fit to complete 90 minutes on the pitch.
“When you’ve been injured as a player, it’s a lonely place, psychologically. You’re in the medical room and you see the players but all you want to do is be with the team and be around them in training and get back as many touches as you can in an environment you feel natural in.
“Therefore, she’s had a bounce and a smile on her face this week, so it’s great to have her involved and we’re looking for constant progression until she’s fully available and that might happen this weekend.”
