At just 20-years-old, Pritchard is still in the early stages of her career, but has made great strides, coming through experiences at Durham, Manchester City and Celtic, before joining the Foxes in a permanent move.

Speaking on her first few weeks with the team, she has been pleased to make her City debut in Barclays WSL2 but hopes our form will start to turn around as we head towards Christmas.

“My first few weeks have been good,” she explained. “The girls have been lovely, so I’ve been settling in nicely. The staff have been great too, and I feel like I’m merging with the team quite well.

Pritchard joined us this summer from Manchester City.

“We have the aim to get promoted this year, we know it’s been a tough few weeks, but we all believe in it and want the same thing, so we’re confident we can turn this around and finish well.

“After being on a few loans, I think it was time for me to be somewhere permanently and get regular minutes, and Leicester have put that trust in me.”

Focusing on the international break, the young winger was excited to receive the call from England Under-23s’ coach Lydia Bedford, with a U23 European Competition match to come against Norway on Monday (7:30pm kick-off) and mentioned her family’s reaction to receiving the news.

Pritchard continued: “When I was playing for Durham, I got called up by the England Under-19s and I went to the Euros, which I really enjoyed, and now I’ve just received an Under-23s call-up, which I’m super excited about.

“You don’t get international football without playing for your club, but to play for your country is an absolute honour and something I’ve dreamed about. It’s a great achievement for me.

The young forward has played for England's Under-19s side.

“My family were all buzzing for me, my grandad is a big supporter of mine and playing for England has made him very proud.

“I’m someone that, when I’m scoring goals, I’m playing well, and with confidence. I think my best season was when I was playing and scoring for the Under-19s, so hopefully I can do the same this international break and come back in good form for Leicester.

“Playing for the Under-23s will be a different type of challenge but I'm super happy to get the call-up and hopefully I can repay that trust in me.”

During this break, King Power Stadium has the honour of hosting the Lionesses for a third time, when Sarina Wiegman’s side host Greece in a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification match.

Tickets are still available and you can watch some of the country’s elite on Filbert Way next Tuesday (7:30pm kick-off).

All times BST.
