As LCFC Women prepare to welcome London City to the King Power Stadium this weekend, our Manager will be urging his side to turn recent struggles into a positive performance on home soil.
Below are the key talking points from Passmoor's press conference ahead of the match, highlighting the return of Missy Goodwin into the fold, the first half of the season, and Sunday’s opponents…
‘A big learning curve’

Missy Goodwin, who has been at Leicester City since 2022, made her first appearance of the season last weekend against Manchester City.
After a positive week back on the training pitch, the Manager is pleased with how the young winger has dealt with injuries and illness over the last few months, and come out the other side stronger.
“She’s got an incredible personality and character, and she’s been around the Club a good few years now,” Passmoor explained.
“It’s been a big learning curve for Missy because the recovery from injury took such a long time, following a successful season last year, but now she’s looking more complete in the training sessions.
“She’s coming more into our thought process when we’re looking at the squad and who we’re going to pick to play Sunday.”
‘A journey of growth and learning’

Since Passmoor’s appointment, he has been clear on setting core principles within the group, which warranted quick success on the pitch in September, picking up points in the early stages of the season.
Since then, the Foxes have endured more difficult results, but the Manager understands that any new job comes as a work in progress, outlining his long-term ambitions for this Club.
“There’s very few people that have the opportunity to arrive into a football club where the project is complete,” Passmoor continued.
“You always enter at a stage where you continually need to strive for competence in strategies on the pitch, and how we act off the pitch, which we are aware of.
“There’s been quite a few changes over recent seasons, and we came in late this season, but we’ve looked at the squad and its needs in terms of collectively and individually.
“If we flipped it and came off two or three victories, there would be a different feel around the place, but last week we wanted to look at our character and robustness and we performed well in that aspect.
“It’s a journey of growth and learning and we’re all aligned to ensure that we match our intentions which is, over the long term, to be a sustainable and regular WSL 1 team that people respect and value.”
‘They have recruited well’

This year’s newly-promoted side have had a positive start to life in the top flight and will look to continue that with a sixth win of the campaign on Filbert Way.
Giving the London outfit high praise for their work in recruitment over the summer, the Manager knows this weekend’s test will be anything but an easy one.
Passmoor added: “They need a massive pat on the back, but what they realised is that if you make the jump up from WSL 2 then you need to implement a plan to be sustainable but also inject money into the squad.
“They have recruited extremely well, from across the world, and they have been working to a different model to other teams, but one that is familiar within the ownership group.
“They are investing in a good style of play, and usually teams in this division will look to these games as a chance to get points, but as they’ve shown this year, that isn’t the case.”
