Julie Thibaud reacted to the narrow loss at full-time

Just one goal in the game, it was a positive performance from the Foxes on Sunday afternoon that sparked a great reaction from the crowd at King Power Stadium.

Converting to right-back for the game, Thibaud stepped up to the task and played a big role in keeping the match within touching distance for the whole 90 minutes.

Commending the fans on Filbert Way

“We were in the game,” the defender spoke in her post-match interview. “They had more chances, but we defended well and had chances. Unfortunately we conceded a goal though.

“We will take the positives and even though we lost today, we’ll learn from it and keep going in our last two games of the season.

“The team worked like that, during the week, so I knew I was going to play in this position (at full-back), but it was about the low block and defending together which is our strength as a team.

“We only conceded one goal today against a top opponent and we just need to keep pushing and it will be good in the future.”

Before a ball had even been kicked on Filbert Way, safety had been confirmed following Crystal Palace’s 7-1 reverse to West Ham United.

The French defender confirms the team are aiming for new heights in the last two games.

Although in the know about the result in London, our No.17 says the squad remain focused on our own points tally with two games remaining this campaign.

The 27-year-old added: “We were aware of the situation, and we knew the score before the game, but we remain focused on us, and we want to be the best team as possible.

“As a footballer, we always fight for the win but if we can break records then it’s even better. We’ll be ready for it.

“It would be nice to get a first win on the road this season next week and then we finish the season at home so our objective is to get six points.”
