LCFC Women beaten 2-0 by Manchester United at the weekend

Rick Passmoor reacted to the defeat at King Power Stadium
A fourth consecutive loss of 2026, not many would pin Leicester as favourites over second-placed Man Utd, but it was a resilient performance nonetheless from the hosts at King Power Stadium, particularly in the second half. Crediting the travelling outfit for their quality at the weekend, and throughout the season, the Manager believes there was little between the two sides.
“Manchester United dominated the first half, credit to them we didn’t execute our game plan,” Passmoor acknowledged. “In the second half, the game changed; we dominated, were on the front foot, we were aggressive and created chances.
The Manager was proud of the Foxes' fight against Man Utd.
“Obviously we’re disappointed with the outcome and disagree with some of the decisions, we believe we should’ve had a penalty as well.
“But we’ve got to be more ruthless in the box, in particular for knockdowns, ricochets, and making sure we’re in the right place at the right time in the 18-yard box.
“Right now, however, I’m proud of the team. If we play like that every week but for 100 minutes, we’ll be fine for this season and seasons to come.”
We opened our campaign against Man Utd, and while the reverse fixture ended in another defeat, the Manager believes the team are going in the right direction.
He also spoke on the input Alisha Lehmann has had since joining the Club last month, as she made her full debut on Filbert Way.
It was a full debut for Alisha Lehmann.
“We’re developing and progressing,” Passmoor continued. “But what we need to be is consistent and making sure we’re on the right side of those small margins.
“We’re in a good place, I know the results haven’t been coming yet, but you wouldn’t want to be in any other place right now.
“What she’s [Lehmann] done in training, she’s transferred it. She brings an extra dimension to us, but I want to credit the whole squad because those off the bench had a role and responsibility.
“That was the time we were on top, and the whole squad performance was really good, we’re just disappointed with the outcome.”
