We’re back home after consecutive trips on the road, both against Tottenham Hotspur, as we look to kickstart our second half of the season against a side four points below us in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
With both of our league wins coming on home soil this season, this is also a chance for Leicester fans to see our newest recruits in action on Filbert Way.
West Ham in focus
West Ham make the trip to Filbert Way this weekend.
West Ham have won just once in 12 WSL meetings this term and were minutes away from a second in the reverse fixture, if not for a late Shannon O’Brien equaliser at Chigwell Construction Stadium in November.
While Leicester have scored the least of anyone in the division, the Hammers don’t excel in that area either, scoring on just nine occasions: Shekiera Martinez their top scorer with three.
The London outfit do head into the fixture with good confidence, having beaten WSL2 side, Newcastle United in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at the weekend.
The Foxes camp
Alisha Lehmann's transfer to City was confirmed on Thursday afternoon.
Rick Passmoor’s side are looking for redemption after a 3-0 defeat to Spurs in the FA Cup; a second defeat in two weeks that the team had to endure at Brisbane Road.
But heading back home, to where our previous seven league wins have come, does give us an important home advantage.
It will also be the first opportunity for our latest signings, Emma Jansson, Ashleigh Neville, Sarah Mayling, Rachel Williams and Alisha Lehmann to put on the home shirt and meet their new fanbase.
