Departing striker Hannah Cain scored for Wales in FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying
Emily van Egmond, Australia’s most capped player, featured for her country
Denny Draper was involved for England’s Under-20s against Japan
The latest international break began, from an LCFC Women perspective, with departing striker Hannah Cain finding the net from the penalty spot in a 1-1 draw for Wales in Montenegro on Friday.
It was ultimately a disappointing trip for the Red Dragons, though, as Jasna Djokovic’s late equaliser denied them a valuable three points in Group E of FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying.
Their chances were boosted, mind you, with a 3-1 success over Czechia back on home soil on Tuesday evening, with Cain once again starting. Goalkeeper Olivia Clark, meanwhile, did not feature across either game.
Elsewhere, Emily van Egmond featured once for Australia across two friendly fixtures with Mexico, being involved from the start for the first, a 1-0 reverse last Saturday. She was not in the XI which defeated the Mexicans 3-1 on Tuesday.
Elsewhere, Denny Draper also appeared for England’s Under-20s in Spain, helping the Young Lionesses to a 1-0 victory from the bench over Japan.
