Leicester City Under-21s to compete across four competitions in 2026/27
Premier League Cup tie against Plymouth Argyle to open the season on Friday 14 August

Our Under-18s league schedule is also confirmed

All home fixtures are scheduled to take place at our training ground in Seagrave, beginning with the visit of Plymouth before the Premier League 2 campaign gets underway against Blackburn Rovers at the same venue on Friday 21 August.

Alongside the Under-21s programme, league fixtures have also been confirmed for City’s Under-18s. The 28-game schedule begins away to Middlesbrough on Saturday 15 August, with home fixtures also taking place at our Seagrave training ground.

The Under-21s will compete in Premier League 2, the National League Cup, Premier League Cup and Premier League International Cup during 2026/27.

Premier League 2 will provide a 20-game regular-season programme, with our Under-21s facing a range of Category One Academy sides before the competition progresses to its knockout stages.

We will also take part in the National League Cup, which brings together 16 National League clubs and 16 Premier League 2 sides in four groups of eight. Under-21s teams face only the four National League clubs in their group, with the top two sides progressing to the quarter-finals.

Drawn in Group D alongside Birmingham City, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion, Boston United, Sutton United, Truro City and Woking, we will travel to each of the four National League clubs during the group stage.

The Premier League Cup has a new format for 2026/27, with 40 teams divided into 10 groups of four. Each side plays the other three teams home and away, with the 10 group winners and six best runners-up advancing to the Round of 16. We are in Group B alongside AFC Bournemouth, Cardiff City and Plymouth Argyle.

There will also be European opposition in the Premier League International Cup. The competition features four groups of eight, each containing four Premier League 2 teams and four invited international clubs. Premier League 2 sides play each of the four international teams in their group, with the top two progressing to the quarter-finals.

We have been placed in Group C with Aston Villa, Fulham and Nottingham Forest, alongside Borussia Dortmund, Brøndby IF, Real Sociedad and Sporting CP. Our young Foxes will welcome all four international sides to Leicester City Training Ground during the group stage.
