Over three mornings filled with stories, artefacts, and memories, John provided a nostalgic journey through our proud history – from the Club’s early days as Leicester Fosse, through to famous cup finals and promotions, as well as our unforgettable Premier League title triumph of 2016.
The visit helped support LOROS’ commitment to enhancing the quality of life for patients and residents, many of whom are lifelong City supporters.
Using a fascinating collection of artefacts, including historic matchday programmes, retro footballs, and photographs spanning over a century, John encouraged conversation, laughter and recollection with those currently staying at LOROS. For many attendees, it was a chance to reflect on matches attended with and by loved ones, favourite players of the past, and the changing face of the game.
“I’ve been coming into the day room, where non-residents can come to socialise during the day, talking about Leicester City and bringing some examples of our memorabilia,” Hutchinson told us last week. “There’s a whole host of background material, which almost provides the backdrop to peoples’ lives in a way. It’s lovely to have that shared experience.”
LOROS need to raise more than £9M of voluntary income each year to continue to provide services to patients, their families and carers. For more information about LOROS and their work, visit www.LOROS.co.uk.
