What’s Your Story? is a player’s pilot project started by Sophie Howard and run by Leicester City in the Community, funded by the Professional Footballer’s Association through the Premier League Foundation.
The programme launched in March 2025, and will very soon come to an end after eleven months of working with young girls to build confidence, self-belief and pride in their individual identities.
The programme combines empowerment workshops with a wide range of creative sessions, providing participants with the tools and confidence to share their personal journeys, their stories, in meaningful and imaginative ways.
Through music, art, jewellery and other creative mediums, participants have explored both their own identities and their relationship with Leicester, producing abstract and expressive pieces that reflect who they are.
The upcoming exhibition, located in the concourse area of King Power Stadium, directly behind the Family Zone, will showcase artwork created by participants from the programme, alongside pieces produced by members of the LCFC Women’s team.
Open to supporters ahead of kick-off, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to see the breadth of creativity inspired by the project and to celebrate the voices of young girls within the football community. Food and drink will be available to purchase inside the concourse, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the exhibition and activations before the game kicks off at 12pm GMT.
Beyond the exhibition, What’s Your Story? leaves a lasting legacy across the city and county. More than 300 girls’ grassroots clubs across Leicester and Leicestershire will receive dedicated storytelling kits, enabling coaches and clubs to continue using creative storytelling as a tool for confidence-building and self-expression.
Supporters attending the match are encouraged to arrive early, explore the exhibition, and celebrate a programme that has placed creativity, identity and empowerment at the heart of the game.
