Delivered in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Leicester City Council, the Youth Employability Hub has been created to support young people aged 16-24 currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Based at King Power Stadium, the Hub will provide a welcoming and accessible space where eligible young people can access tailored support to help them build confidence, develop employability skills and take positive steps towards education, training and employment. The Hub will be open Monday to Wednesday, initially from 10am to 4pm.
Through a range of mentoring opportunities, CV and interview support, employability workshops and skills-based training sessions, participants will receive personalised guidance designed to help them overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
To mark the launch, Leicester City in the Community welcomed local businesses, employers, training providers and support organisations from across Leicester to King Power Stadium. The event highlighted the importance of partnership working in supporting young people and creating pathways into meaningful opportunities.
The event was attended by Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP, the Member of Parliament for Leicester West, who spoke about the positive impact the Hub can have on young people and communities across Leicester.
Speaking at the launch event, Rt Hon Liz Kendall MP said: "I'm so delighted to be here today to launch Leicester City in the Community's new Youth Employability Hub.
"This is a brilliant initiative that is going to transform opportunities for young people in our city.
Community
"It's bringing together employers and support services, including housing and mental health organisations.
"It's going to offer work placements and training opportunities to give young people a better start in life, using the power of the badge to open up opportunities for young people."
The Youth Employability Hub reflects Leicester City in the Community's ongoing commitment to supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential. By bringing together local partners, employers and support services, the Hub aims to create a joined-up approach that provides young people with the tools, guidance and opportunities they need to succeed.
Eligible young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training can access support through the Youth Employability Hub. Referrals can also be made by youth services, support agencies and partner organisations, as well as DWP work coaches.
