Foxes forward Ayew netted in a comprehensive 5-0 success over Central African Republic, maintaining his impressive national goalscoring record by making it three in four for the Black Stars, while winger Abdul Fatawu also started, involved for the first time since November 2024.

A 1-0 victory over Comoros then sealed qualification, with Ayew featuring across 86 minutes of the contest at Accra Sports Stadium, while Fatawu was an unused substitute. Topping CAF Group I, Otto Addo’s side are now heading to next summer’s tournament.

Patson Daka, meanwhile, featured twice as Zambia also concluded their qualification campaign. Already out of the running for progression to next summer's World Cup, pride was still on the line as the Copper Bullets defeated Tanzania 1-0 at Amaan Stadium. Also leading the line against Niger, a 1-0 reverse at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium saw Zambia finish fourth in Group E, on nine points from eight matches.

The Jamaican now has seven goals for his country in 41 caps.

De Cordova-Reid scored the second goal of Jamaica’s comprehensive 4-0 rout of Bermuda at Independence Park, which lifts the Reggae Boyz to the summit of Group B, as CONCACAF qualification continues ahead of next summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Falling to a 2-0 reverse away at Curacao four days earlier, a game the Foxes attacker also started, Steve McLaren’s side are now a point ahead of Curacao with two games left to play, having collected three wins from four matches.

Over in Group J, Jordan James played the majority of Wales' 4-2 defeat to Belgium, having also featured in a 3-0 friendly defeat to England.

Our midfield loanee was named in the starting line-up for Craig Bellamy's side, who lost out to the group leaders at Cardiff City Stadium. Progression to next year's tournament rests on the last two games, currently sitting third, four points behind Belgium.

Louis Page started for England Under-20s as the young Lions lost 1-0 to Switzerland at St. George’s Park on Friday. The midfielder played an hour while fellow Foxes youngster Olabade Aluko was introduced as a substitute in the narrow defeat, making his debut.

Development Squad forward Chris Popov made an impact from the bench during Wales Under-21s’ UEFA EURO U21 qualifier with Austria, scoring a stoppage-time second to earn a 2-0 win at Hofmann Stadion in Linz. A first victory of the campaign, the Dragons now sit fourth in Group I, on three points, having lost 7-0 at home to Belgium, in which Popov played 45 minutes.

Academy prospect Ryan Donnelly made second-half appearances for Northern Ireland Under-21s in their 2-0 victory over Malta and 2-1 defeat to Germany, both in Belfast. Tommy Wright’s side are fourth in EURO qualifying Group F, on four points from three matches.
