We were 2-1 winners over Derby County on Monday evening
Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Jordan James both scored in the first half
Defender Caleb Okoli was thrilled to end a run of two defeats with a big win
He also praised his defensive colleague Ben Nelson for his display against the Rams
The Italian centre-back played the full 90 minutes at King Power Stadium, as goals from Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Jordan James ultimately sealed the points.
It’s a positive end to the calendar year for the Foxes, who now head to Sheffield United on New Year’s Day (5:30pm GMT kick-off).
“We got the three points, it’s very important,” Okoli said. “We’re all very happy and we’re ready to also prepare for the next game.
“Football is about reacting and I think we had a very good reaction today. It was important to have a good feeling and get the three points today after the last game. We’re happy for the three points.
“We were still feeling confident [after Derby’s equaliser]. We knew we started the game very well. Also we scored the first goal and, even if we conceded, I think the team was feeling good. We kept pushing and we found the second one and we got the win.”
Saving a word for Ben Nelson, his central defensive partner, Okoli added: “We know his capacity and his ability. He’s very young and a good defender so I’m enjoying playing with him. I hope we’ll have some other good games together."
