Leicester City are taking on Watford on Boxing Day (3pm kick-off)
Martí Cifuentes provided a squad fitness update ahead of the match
Defender Caleb Okoli is in training and in line to make a return
Jannik Vestergaard suffered a knock at QPR and is being monitored
The Italian has not featured since our win at Norwich City on 8 November, missing the last seven Sky Bet Championship matches through injury, though the centre-back could now potentially provide a timely boost heading into the encounter with Javi Gracia’s side at King Power Stadium.
Fellow centre-back Jannik Vestergaard suffered a knock in the defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, however, and will be assessed prior to Friday’s 3pm kick-off against the Hornets.
“Everybody is feeling quite well physically after the (QPR) game,” Cifuentes stated in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday. “It’s only Jannik who got this bump, a knock on the head. He was not able to train today, but we’ll see how he feels over the next 48 hours.
A look at training in Seagrave as we move towards Friday's home fixture against Watford.
“The good news is that Caleb joined the team, is training well and looks like he will probably be ready for the next game.”
Victor Kristiansen, Harry Souttar and Boubakary Soumaré continue to make their recoveries, meanwhile, with Aaron Ramsey and Jeremy Monga both able to return for the first time last weekend.
“Victor, Soutts and Bouba are still on the way to getting back to the pitch,” the Spaniard added. “Aaron and Jez coming back from an injury, the medical recommendation or risk that we could take was around 20-30 minutes for both of them. We could have pushed it more but the idea was to give them this amount of minutes.”
