Midfielder Sammy Braybrooke played 90 minutes for Newport County, making his ninth consecutive league start of the season as they fell to a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Sky Bet League 2 leaders Walsall at the weekend.
It leaves David Hughes’ side bottom of the fourth-tier table, but only three points from safety, ahead of travelling to face Shrewsbury Town on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
There’s also EFL Trophy action to come this midweek, with Exeter City visiting Rodney Parade on Tuesday evening for their final Group I fixture, a 7pm kick-off, as the sides battle it out to claim a place in the knockout stages of the competition.

Tranmere Rovers were also beaten, on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline at Swindon Town, with Jayden Joseph introduced as a late substitute in the defeat, making his 11th league appearance for the club.
Sitting 18th in League 2, Andy Crosby’s side host Cheltenham Town this coming Saturday (3pm kick-off). An EFL Trophy encounter against Blackpool at Prenton Park comes tomorrow night (7pm kick-off), with both teams in a strong position to qualify from Group B.

Moving across to Europe, Bilal El Khannouss netted for VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Europa League, scoring the first goal of a 2-0 victory over Feyenoord. In the starting XI for a Bundesliga clash with Augsburg three days later, the Morocco international played 75 minutes of a 3-2 success on home soil.

It’s Borussia Dortmund up next at Signal Iduna Park for the side sitting fourth in the Bundesliga on Saturday 22 November (2:30pm kick-off).
From Germany to Italy, Woyo Coulibaly remained on the bench as Sassuolo recorded a 3-0 away win over Atalanta at Gewiss Stadium. His next chance to feature in Serie A comes on Monday 24 November, against Pisa (7:45pm kick-off).
Back in England, Kian Pennant started in Gateshead’s 2-0 home reverse to Solihull Moors in the Enterprise National League, playing 68 minutes at Gateshead International Stadium. Now sitting 19th, it’s Forest Green Rovers up next for the Tynesiders this Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Also in the division, young goalkeeper Harry French was an unused substitute as Boston United lost 3-1 to Rochdale.
