  • Youngster Jayden Joseph scored his first senior EFL goal for Tranmere this weekend
  • He helped Rovers to a 1-1 draw with Newport County in Sky Bet League 2
  • Sammy Braybrooke, Nathan Opoku (Newport), Tom Wilson-Brown (Swindon) and Will Alves (Huddersfield) also saw EFL action
  • Henry Cartwright (Falkirk), Woyo Coulibaly (Sassuolo) and Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart) featured outside England
The 19-year-old, on loan at Prenton Park until January, opened the scoring for Rovers in their 1-1 draw with Newport County on Saturday – with the visitors also boasting two Foxes loan players.
Courtney Baker-Richardson hit an 87th-minute equaliser for County, who had Nathan Opoku, 24, and Sammy Braybrooke, 21, among their starting XI in Birkenhead, both on loan there until January.
Tranmere currently sit 16th in Sky Bet League 2, with Newport further down in 22nd.
Also in League 2, 20-year-old Tom Wilson-Brown started in the backline for Swindon Town as they sealed a 3-1 victory over Harrogate Town on Saturday. Goals from Ollie Clarke and Aaron Drinan (2) were enough for the Robins at the County Ground, putting them top of the fourth-tier standings with six wins from eight so far this season.
Elsewhere, Will Alves, 20, was introduced from the bench a division higher in Sky Bet League 1 as Huddersfield Town fell to a 3-1 defeat at second-placed Bradford City. Bobby Pointon hit a brace for the Bantams, alongside Josh Neufville’s effort, rendering Zépiqueno Redmond’s 80th-minute hit as a mere consolation strike, as Town drop to sixth in the standings.
Woyo Coulibaly
In Scotland, there was another start for 20-year-old midfielder Henry Cartwright too, a ninth outing of 25/26 so far, although visitors St. Mirren ultimately left Falkirk Stadium with a 2-1 win. Declan John and Mikael Mandron got the winning goals for the visitors. That loss leaves the Bairns ninth in the Scottish Premiership on four points.
Woyo Coulibaly, 26, was also a half-time substitute for Sassuolo, making his debut for the Italian outfit in an encouraging 1-0 Serie A success over Lazio. I Neroverdi have Alieu Fadera to thank for the win, which propels them up to 14th in Italy’s top tier. Bilal El Khannouss, 21, made his debut for Stuttgart too, as Freiburg were 3-1 winners over Die Roten, courtesy of goals from Igor Matanovic (2) and Derry Scherhant. They sit 12th in the Bundesliga table after three games.
