After picking up a point in our opening fixture in the group stage, a 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth, City secured a first win of the campaign at LCFC Training Ground.

Jake Fletcher opened the scoring 14 minutes in, before three second-half goals made the game safe. Samuel Irene doubled our lead on the hour mark, prior to Bismark Owusu netting our third 10 minutes from time.

A penalty was converted by Fletcher in the closing stages of the game, completing his brace and seeing us rise up to second in Group A, two points behind leaders Everton, who Leicester host in the next group stage match on Saturday 7 November.

Before then, it's back to U18 Premier League duties on Saturday, facing Liverpool away from home (both 12pm BST kick-offs).

The details...

City: Stretton, Simons (c) (Turrell 81'), Jacklin, Dignum, Govan (L. Lawrence 90'), Manyumba (Swan 72'), Holmes, Szembell (Chezy 47'), Owusu (Machaka 81'), Irene, Fletcher.

Subs not used: Lawrence, Muskwe.

Goals: Fletcher 14', 86' (pen), Irene 59', Owusu 79'.
