  • Leicester City are facing Queens Park Rangers next in the Sky Bet Championship
  • A trio of players are back in training, Gary Rowett revealed on Thursday
  • He provided updates on Jannik Vestergaard, Aaron Ramsey and Harry Souttar
We host the Hoops in a 3pm GMT kick-off, the second of back-to-back home Sky Bet Championship fixtures this week, following victory over Bristol City.
Prior to the clash with Julian Stéphan’s side, meanwhile, our Manager provided an update on his squad’s fitness levels, with everyone coming through Tuesday’s success unscathed.
“No [there’s no new injuries], not that I know of,” he told reporters during Thursday’s pre-match press conference in Seagrave. “The group have been in today [after a] recovery day yesterday.

“Everyone went out and trained and it felt like everyone was fine. I think that’s always the beauty of winning a game, you usually find that everyone is out there very quickly afterwards. I think we should be okay.
“I don’t think there will be anyone necessarily back in. We need to be mindful of some of the players who have not played many minutes who we had to manage a little bit of their game time on Tuesday, but that’s normal. But everyone has come through fine.”
A trio of injured players have been back in training, with Jannik Vestergaard, Aaron Ramsey and Harry Souttar all taking steps in their recoveries, while the likes of Hamza Choudhury and Jordan James both started for the first time in midweek. Denmark centre-back Vestergaard has missed the last eight matches, last featuring against Oxford United in January.
“We’ve got Soutts training, we’ve got Aaron training,” the 52-year-old explained. “Jannik was out there as well doing some of the drill this morning, so that’s good news. But again, those three, for different reasons, I suppose we have to be careful chucking them back in.
Back on the grass.
Back on the grass.
“It’s different with Hamza and JJ. Hamza, for example, had missed just over a month, so it’s not too big a period, JJ a little longer. Again it’s just making sensible decisions.
“I wouldn’t imagine Rammer (Ramsey) would be back in contention for any of the these next two, I’m thinking more likely to be after the international break. That’s my assumption of it but I’ll speak to the medical team each day to see where we’re at.
“Jannik is only literally done 25 minutes of a session this morning. It’s great to see him out there, but I think then playing is slightly different to that. You need some good training minutes and we’re not going to get too many opportunities to do that, maybe next week.
“Soutts has been out for over a year, so we have to be mindful of making good decisions with those type of players. We’ll assess that. We’re trying to get players available. Being available and doing yourself justice is a fine line. It’s making sure we’re also sensible for the needs of the players.”
