Starting the season off with a win, City go second in the early PL Cup Group B standings, as Michael Golding and Hugo de Lisle both got themselves on the scoresheet at LCFC Training Ground.

It was the visitors who took the lead in Seagrave courtesy of Caleb Roberts' goal 10 minutes in, but the Foxes hit back before the break to turn the game on its head. Riley Carr set up De Lisle equalised prior to Golding converting his chance on the stroke of half-time.

A third made the game safe, Sam Hayman the unfortunate Pilgrim to find the back of his own net on 67 minutes.

Our next cup fixture sees us host AFC Bournemouth on Friday 4 September, but before then, attention turns to the National League Cup, travelling to Sutton United on Tuesday. The Premier League 2 campaign then gets underway on Friday, hosting Blackburn Rovers in Seagrave (all 7pm kick-offs).
