Forward Liam Cullen joins Leicester City on a three-year deal
The 27-year-old signs from Swansea City after 19 years
He has 15 caps for Wales on the international stage

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a three-year deal after 19 years with The Swans having come through the Welsh side’s academy and going on to make 207 appearances in all competitions, scoring 37 goals.

Speaking to LCFC.com, he said: “I’m buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get started. When this opportunity came about and with the size of the Club and the project they’re getting started with now, I thought it was the perfect fit for me.

“The way we want to play football suits me really well. Keeping the football, playing in the opposition half, creating chances and scoring lots of goals. I’m quite versatile in terms of where the manager wants to play me, but the main thing is to score goals, help the team win games and hopefully push the Club back to where we want to be.”

Born in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Cullen joined Swansea City’s academy at the age of eight and made his debut for the Under-18s aged 13.

He quickly progressed through the ranks, making his senior debut for The Swans against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup in August 2018, while his first goal for the club came in a 4-1 win against Reading in July 2020 which secured them a spot in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs.

In January 2022, the Wales international, who has 15 senior caps to his name, spent time on loan with Lincoln City, while last season he featured for Vítor Matos’s side 43 times in all competitions, finding the net on five occasions.

He will now link up with his Leicester City team-mates who ahead of their final pre-season friendly game against Serie A Genoa at King Power Stadium on Saturday 1 August (7:30pm kick-off).
