The Ghanaian’s 48th-minute goal was enough to see the Foxes take home all three points from The Valley following a hard-fought encounter against the newly-promoted side.
It moves us onto six points from a possible nine in the Sky Bet Championship, earning our first away victory of the campaign.
And after three consecutive away fixtures across league and cup, we’ll head back home next Friday night, hosting Birmingham City on Filbert Way (8pm BST kick-off).
Soaking up pressure

Four changes from the defeat at Preston North End included 16-year-old Jeremy Monga’s first league start, while 17-year-old Louis Page played just under an hour on his first start in any competition. Silko Thomas then came on for Monga, making his senior Leicester City debut in the process.
The hosts had the better of the opening stages, with Jannik Vestergaard twice required to thwart Tyreece Campbell and then Miles Leaburn early on. Our opening effort saw Jordan Ayew drag a shot narrowly wide, before Fatawu unleashed a long-range strike that Lloyd Jones headed behind.
From the resulting corner, Page’s volley couldn’t trouble Thomas Kaminski, while it was an excellent Jakub Stolarczyk save keeping Charlton at bay at the other end, the Pole called into action once Conor Coventry let fly from range, managing to tip it over the top.
It wouldn’t be the first time he’d produce between the sticks either, keeping out Kayne Ramsay’s header early in the second period, after Hamza Choudhury, captain on the day, cleared one off the line from another dangerous Coventry corner.
The defining moment

A stunner from Fatawu – his first of the season - had Leicester ahead three minutes into the second half. The 21-year-old, who only returned from an ACL injury during pre-season, cut inside the box on his left and curled a sensational strike into the top corner, right in front of the 3,000 Foxes fans behind that end.
That gave City a position of control in the contest, one which perhaps hadn’t been there consistently in the first half. Seeing it out was the next aim, with Patson Daka introduced as an attacking change, though it was two defenders who came close to setting up a second. Vestergaard swung a boot at Luke Thomas’ free-kick but couldn’t get a clean connection on it and Thomas Kaminiski was able to claim.

Nathan Jones’ side were not going to take this one lying down and pushed forward in search of an equaliser, creating several moments of promise. Choudhury and Caleb Okoli both had work to do blocking efforts from Campbell and Sonny Carey, with set pieces also proving a threat, yet Lloyd Jones and Coventry both failed to find the target.
And when the ball fell to Charlton captain Greg Docherty, he, but for another Okoli block, might have levelled things up. Jones thought he’d equalised himself, heading in the resulting corner, until he realised a foul had already been given, much to the Addicks fans’ frustration.
They were trying to suck the ball in at that end of the goal, but defensive reinforcements in the form of Wout Faes and Ricardo Pereira, the latter’s first minutes of the season following injury, saw it home for Leicester, after Campbell headed just over from a corner late in the day. It was all about getting the job done and, in the end, City did just that.
